69 ARTISTS COME TOGETHER TO RE-IMAGINE 69 YEARS OF THE JOURNEY OF INDEPENDENT INDIA. YEAR BY YEAR.

Indianama is a documentation of events and stories, told and untold. Of folklores that shaped the country to it's present avatar.
Animal, an independent agency invited 69 artists to come together and be a part of this journey. The exhibition was organized by Animal, and all artworks were exhibited at KONA Gallery, in New Delhi, India from the 12th to 18th August 2016.
I choose the year 2004. In 2004, suddenly students in India discovered their world had shrunk. And to ask why, they had the sky to thank. On the 20th of September, 2004, India launched a satellite called EDUSAT, meant solely to serve the educational sector. Using television as a medium of instruction, it brought schools, colleges and other such institutions from all over India closer to students. You could say, it was a moment when geography became history, for them.
